How do Fund Managers see the market?
Since September the ASX200 has seen a significant divergence in performance between sectors. Materials and energy have delivered strong performance while IT, Healthcare and Consumer Discretionary stocks have sunk. It's an Oil Bath
I'm sure we've seen this chart before. Oh, that's right. We did. It's here, called Silver! Remember that? Unfortunately, Oil has far more impact and the lack of oil creates plenty of other problems. I won't re-hash the reasons for the spike we are seeing in oil, we all know the reasons and I'm sure we all hope that we see resolution before the damage and the casualties mount further and definitely without further escalation. The key question here is "how long does this last?"

Reporting Season Wrap
The easy discussion today would probably be War or the price of Oil (or Petrol..eek). But the answer to the question is, “I don’t know”. How long does it go far. Does it spread? Or perhaps, end quickly. All outcomes give different results for potential action. Instead, lets talk the February reporting season. UBS released a report that gave us a quaint little summary. Positive earnings surprises outnumbered the misses (i.e. profit below expectation) at a ratio of 2 to 1.
